Why Millennials Need To Think Differently

Why Millennials Need To Think Differently

You sit down behind the computer on the job search site of choice. You skim through all the possible job options. One job description after another. Asking the one question, “Would I fit at this job?”

There is only one problem, you are asking the wrong question.

Ask yourself, “Would the job fit me,” rather than, “would I fit the job?

It’s such a small difference that leads to huge change in your life.

Changing a couple of words or thoughts can make you see a whole new world.

Millennials Have Opportunity To Change The World

Sitting at the front door of opportunity is choice. The choice you have in life will determine the fruit of your labor and the directions your new paths.

Let’s admit it, we have been given direction and guidance to make certain choices in our lives. Whether they were passive guidance or aggressive, we have been directed our whole life. But now, the choice is yours.

You can choose to allow people, experiences, and culture to dictate your direction or you can be different.

You can think differently. The difference that will change the world, your world.

Finding A New Career Path

Rachel Allen wrote at over at Chelsea Krost’s site about being highly educated and yet unemployable. She shares her story of thinking differently when it comes to working.

If we could for a moment pull the brakes to our progression in life and reevaluate, we might see many different and better options. This is what Rachel Allen did. And it worked.

Rachel Allen chose a new path and a new career followed.

Millennials Reevaluate Your Path

If you follow the ways of the past or from other people’s experiences, you are reactively pursuing. In contrast, when you proactively pursue anything, jobs, careers, relationships, or even joy, you take control of your direction.

Making no choice or waiting for the options given to you will lead you to someone else handing you your future.

Looking for the “perfect” job probably won’t be found. But you could create your perfect job and even career.

Reevaluate your path and think differently.

Don’t wait on people.
Don’t wait on your perfect job.
Don’t wait for your next opportunity.

Grab the bull by the horns to go get it.

The choice is up to you, be proactive or reactive.
